KUALA LUMPUR: Ella is "standing in the eyes of the world" as the proud recipient of Asean Outstanding Business Award 2017.
The legendary rocker, whose real name is Nor Zila Aminuddin, received the Asean award for the category of Leading Performance Artiste Of The Year at the Asean Business Awards Gala Dinner held at the Genting International Convention Centre, First World Hotel, Genting Highlands on Sept 30.
The award was presented to her by Housing, Local Government and Urban Wellbeing Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar.
Ella, 51, who attended the dinner with her husband Azhar Ghazali, said: "I am so honoured to receive this award. Thanks to all my fans who have supported me throughout my 30 years in music. I'm happy to be still relevant in the industry and to earn new fans in every concert."
She also shared the news on her Instagram with a photo of Azhar and herself posing beside a congratulatory bunting on Friday. "May this be of benefit to others.” It generated 3,441 likes and fans congratulated her, besides commending her for the stylish, royal blue dress she wore to the event.
Ella is currently busy preparing for her concert with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP), KLCC, on Dec 2 and 3.
The concert, titled Ella Live With The MPO - A Rock Queen's Journey, will see her performing 17 songs.
Tickets are priced between RM150 to RM380.
