#SHOWBIZ: Siti Saleha wins 'Outstanding Asian Star' award in Seoul

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Siti Saleha has received an award at the Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA) 2024 event earlier today.

The 34-year-old artiste won the 'Outstanding Asian Star - Malaysia' award for her role in the Tonton Original Series, titled 'SeOfis', which premiered on Tonton in January.

In the drama series, she played Sam an entrepreneur who shares her working space with two other women, played by Nadiya Nisaa and Nadia Aqilah.

"I hope with this recognition, I may be able to look ahead to spread my wings further in acting.

"If there's an opportunity for me to move on to a bigger platform, why not? I'm ready now," she said.

However, Siti Saleha added that she would not say goodbye to Malaysia and the local entertainment scene if that were to happen.

"After all, Malaysia is my home," she said.

The actress also attributed her win largely to her fans who had been supporting her from Day 1.

She also hoped that this award would inspire and prove to other Malaysian actors that it's not far-fetched for any of them to dream big and win accolades at an international level.

Aside from Siti Saleha, six other personalities received similar awards under the International Invitation Categories, namely Wooseok Byeon (for South Korea), Hyeyoon Kim (South Korea), Desmond Tan (Singapore), Ochi Rosdiana (Indonesia), Metawin Opas-Iamkajorn (Thailand), and Kim Chiu (the Philippines).

The awards ceremony was held earlier today at Yeouido KBS Hall in Seoul, South Korea.
