(Showbiz) Love is in the air for actor Jalaluddin Hassan

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular actor Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan has found love again, a year after his wife Datin Hasimah Mat Ehsan passed away of a heart ailment.

Jalaluddin, 63, revealed that his Miss Right is a single mother of four, and they have known each other via social media since May.

“We met on Facebook during Ramadan, and my first message to her was ‘selamat berpuasa’ (happy fasting),” said Jalaluddin.

“It was only during Hari Raya Aidil Fitri that we met, at an open house, and she turned out to be the younger sister of a close friend,” he told a press conference at the launch of Bahara Emas at Dewan Bahasa Dan Pustaka (DBP) here yesterday.

Jalaluddin declined to reveal the single mother’s name, and addressed her as YR.

“I’m attracted to her courage, strength and compassion as a single parent.

“She is always there for her children, and furthemore, she finds time to look after her ailing mother,” said Jalaluddin, adding that she would make a great wife.

When asked about his health, he said he was gradually getting better, but needed to undergo physiotherapy every week because his legs were still weak.

“The doctors also advised me to eat healthy and get sufficient rest.”

On Oct 2, Jalaluddin was rushed to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital when he appeared ill and out of breath after the filming of TV AlHijrah’s talk show Assalamualaikum at the channel’s headquarters in Kompleks Pusat Islam, Jalan Perdana.

He had been invited as guest to share his experiences and tips in building a happy family.

Hasimah, 64, died on Nov 5 last year after complications resulting from heart surgery at the University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC).
