DRAMA Band's charismatic and witty lead singer Aepul is set to mark his debut in Hall A, MAEPS (Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang) in Seri Kembangan, Selangor on Dec 21.
"It's way out of Kuala Lumpur, but I love entertaining fans in less-known venues, and I'm confident Drama Band's debut here will be a blast.
"I'm looking forward to sharing again the big stage with our old friends from Masdo and Bunkface, and there'll be four Indonesian acts that we'll be meeting for the first time," says Aepul.
Drama Band, Bunkface and Masdo are three Malaysian rock acts that will be featured in One Love Music Festival 2024 at MAEPS.
There will also be Malaysian bands Insomniacks, Hujan, 53stu and Gerhana Ska Cinta, as well as Indonesian singers Feby Putri, Nadin Amzah, Nabila Taqiyyah and Salma Salsabil.
Salma, a former Indonesian Idol winner, is marking her debut performance in Malaysia.
NON-STOP
The concert's organiser Tuff KL announced it at a press conference in Cornerstone IPC, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur recently.
Tuff KL founder and chief executive officer Muhammad Zul Aqil says One Love Music Festival promises to be a historical 12-hour non-stop music festival, featuring performances from 12 iconic artistes, from both Malaysia and Indonesia.
Muhammad Zul adds that his company's mission is to bring people together through music, and the festival is a strong reflection of that vision.
"Since our early days in 2021, we've grown from selling our first merchandise to organising events that not only entertain but also make a difference.
"The One Love Music Festival is not just a concert, it is a movement that aims to harness the power of music to connect individuals from diverse backgrounds.
"In an era where social connections can sometimes feel fleeting, the festival serves as a reminder of the joy and unity that live music can bring," he says.
The concert's main sponsor is MOVETIX by AirAsia MOVE.
MOVETIX chief executive officer Hassan Choudhury says in a statement that events such as One Love Music Festival will definitely unite fans and artistes, especially with its incredible local and international talent lineup.
"As part of an online travel agent platform, we look forward to enabling music lovers and fans of these amazing artistes to enjoy a seamless travel experience.
"We look forward to making One Love Music Festival a memorable experience for everyone together with Tuff KL."
UNITY
Muhammad Zul says: "With collaborations such as AirAsia MOVE and the support of over 20 public and private universities, Tuff KL applies a unique positioning strategy by utilising students as promoters, engaging local brands within the community, and collaborating with over 50 influencers who will leverage their platforms to create buzz around the event.
"This approach not only inspires the youth but also strengthens local ties, promoting a sense of pride in Malaysian artistry and culture."
He adds that excitement is building up for what promises to be one of the largest music festivals in Malaysia this year.
"We aim to create an annual festival experience like no other."
Youk of Bunkface says that each band or soloist will perform 10 to 12 songs, for about an hour.
"It's our biggest year-end showcase and we hope our fans will come in full force to have a great afternoon, evening and night of musical magic," he adds.
