KUALA LUMPUR: Aside from being a social media platform, Instagram has become a serious money-making tool for celebrities.
And one source of income for Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo is through sponsored Instagram posts, which can cost RM1,687,000 per post!
According to online portal Hypebeast, out of the 2017 highest paid athlete’s RM392 million paycheck, a large amount of it — approximately RM147.6 million — came from sponsorships alone.
Ronaldo however placed third in Instagram scheduling tool HopperHQ’s list of “Highest Paid Celebrity Per Sponsored Instagram Post”, just under singer Selena Gomez and reality show star Kim Kardashian West.
The two ladies make approximately RM2.3 million and RM2.1 million per post, respectively.
Kardiashian’s half-sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner are in the fourth and fifth spots, respectively earning RM1.68 million and RM1.55 million.
Other names on the list include Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian (both making approximately RM1.05 million), model and actress Cara Delevingne (approximately RM632,625), and model Gigi Hadid (approximately RM506,100).
American basketball star LeBron James is the only other male on the Top 10 list, placing ninth with approximately RM506,100 per post.
