KUALA LUMPUR: Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo took to social media to seek information about a fan who was seen tearfully chanting his name during a match.
The post on social media site X, which garnered 63.9 million views, included a short video of the emotional moment which took place during a match between Al-Nassr and Esteghlal in the AFC Champions League on Oct 22.
In the video, a middle-aged man is seen in the stands, sobbing while recording the moment on his phone.
As the crowd chants "Ronaldo! Ronaldo!" he joins in, visibly overwhelmed by the atmosphere.
Ronaldo's heartfelt caption reads, "Looking for him! Any info would be appreciated."
Some took a more lighthearted approach and jokingly claimed to be the man himself or his relative to land a meeting with the sporting legend.
"He's my twin brother, please choose me instead of him," said user Zizou.
"That is my father, I can confirm!" said user LLF.
"That's my grandfather. He trekked for three days from America to watch you live," claimed user IRUNNIA.
Nevertheless, the post itself has been shared 57,000 times, likely in efforts to locate the man in question.
