(Showbiz) K-drama actor Woo Bin underwent 35 times of radiation therapy, thanks fans for well-wishes

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular South Korean actor Kim Woo Bin, who has been undergoing cancer treatment, shared that his current health was improving.

In a news report by Soompi yesterday, the 28-year-old actor took to his official social media account “fan café” to inform his fans of his current condition.

He wrote: “I wanted to write to you earlier, but I’ve been so focused on receiving treatment and taking care of my health that seven months have already gone by. To be honest, I think it took longer for me to write to you because even I would get scared every time my name would appear on search rankings. But I wanted to talk to you before the year ended.”

The star of hit Korean films and TV dramas such as “Master”, “School 2013” and “The Heirs” added: “Thanks to your support and prayers, I have safely gone through chemotherapy three times and radiation therapy 35 times. During my treatment, I gained strength from the words of support that you posted on the fan cafe and on social media. I want to sincerely thank you for that. I have currently completed all of my necessary treatments and am currently going through regular follow-up examinations as I recover.”

He ended his letter by saying that he would need a little more time before he was able to greet all of his fans again.

The actor ironically added: “When I used to leave posts on the fan cafe, I always told you that your health comes first and that you should always take care of your health, so I’m a little embarrassed to be the one falling ill. I will take care of my health more and do my best to bring only good news in the future.”

Woo Bin was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer (head and neck cancer) last May and has since been focusing on his treatment. This is the first time in seven months since his diagnosis that the actor had provided an update on his health and condition.
