KUALA LUMPUR: It looks like wedding bells will be ringing for South Korean drummer of the rock outfit FT Island, Choi Min-hwan.
The 25-year-old announced the happy news via his Instagram yesterday that he would be tying the knot with his girlfriend, Kim Yul-hee who is a former member of the girl group Laboum, soon.
According to a news report by Soompi, he wrote in his caption that they had been there for each other in difficult times and had decided on marriage.
“After making this big life decision, I’m so grateful for the congratulatory messages that I received from many people,” said Choi.
The Seoul native said that when he had shared the news with his fellow band members, they were all very happy for him and Kim.
He also said: “I will never forget my gratitude towards all of you who have walked with me for over 10 years. I will work hard to return that favour give with my music. Thank you so much.”
Meanwhile, as the marriage news was circulating in South Korea, a News report quoting a source said that Kim, 20, who left Laboum last November, was pregnant.
In response, Laboum’s agency Global H Media stated, “Yul-hee ended her contract because she no longer wished to be in the entertainment industry.
“When she left the group, she didn’t mention any news of marriage or pregnancy. Her managers didn’t know of her engagement either.”
FNC Entertainment’s representative stated that they are currently clarifying with Choi on the pregnancy rumours.
