(Showbiz)'Give us some space and time' — actress Diana Danielle on husband's arrest

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Datin Diana Danielle requested for privacy from the media following her husband Datuk Farid Kamil’s arrest today.

“Please let us deal with the situation at hand. (I am) not going to comment at all,” she wrote to NST via Whatsapp.

Actor and director Farid, 36, was arrested this afternoon for allegedly slapping a traffic policeman and kicking a civilian at the Kota Damansara traffic police counter.

Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din confirmed the incident and said that Farid was being held at the Kota Damansara police station to assist in investigations.

He added that the investigations were done to determine whether Farid was under the influence of drugs during the incident.

It is understood that Farid had gone to the station with another individual to lodge a report on an accident at about 1.20pm.

The artiste is believed to have suddenly slapped the policeman who was registering his report.

The incident was witnessed by other policemen on duty and several members of the public.

Farid also had allegedly kicked the legs of another man there before he was arrested by police.

Mohd Zani Che Din said the case is being investigated under Section 90 of the Police Act for indecent behaviour in a police station.
