KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Diana Danielle appeared at the Federal Territories Syariah Lower Court to formally file for divorce from her husband, actor Farid Kamil, this morning.
Accompanied by her syarie lawyer, Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kadir, Diana arrived at 9am, looking calm and composed in a black robe despite the presence of more than 30 media members awaiting her arrival.
Initially, Diana declined to comment on the situation but later shared her hopes for a smooth resolution.
"I hope for the best outcome. I've done what I can, and now it's in the court's hands," she told BH Online.
According to Akberdin, the application was submitted due to irreconcilable differences.
"I was instructed to state that they cannot live together and there is no understanding.
"There is no need for us to state in detail, we can only say that there is no understanding and a prolonged shiqaq which is a fight that cannot be repaired.
"So, for this reason Diana filed for divorce," he said.
Akberdin added that the first mention for the case will take place on Nov 20.
Diana and Farid's relationship has faced public scrutiny since Oct 28, when Diana announced her intention to pursue a divorce.
Farid, however, has expressed his wish to preserve the marriage and maintain their family unity.
The couple's marital challenges first became public last year when Diana filed for divorce, citing continuous conflict and an inability to continue as husband and wife.
Although they reconciled briefly following their August 2023 divorce via Google Meet, the recent filing suggests that differences remain unresolved.
Diana and Farid, married since Nov 3, 2012, share two children, Muhammad, 11, and Nur Aurora, 9.
