KUALA LUMPUR: Singer and actress Suzy may have held an entertaining showcase in Seoul recently, but for the South Korean media in attendance, it didn’t go down too well.
The event was to celebrate the release of the 25-year-old’s second mini album Faces Of Love, according to a news report by Allkpop.
It was her first solo activity after her former group Miss A’s disbandment and her breakup with actor Lee Min-ho, in December and November last year, respectively.
Naturally difficult questions were expected to be going her way, and the media members assumed that as an artiste of nine years, Suzy would have been well-prepared for them.
The reporters revealed, however, that the artiste lacked professionalism and failed to answer some of the questions, or that her answers seemed irrelevant.
For example, when asked about Miss A's disbandment, Suzy gave a vague reply saying, “It's a new challenge to me so I've prepared hard.”
She also reportedly failed to answer when she was asked to describe the type of message she wanted to portray through Faces Of Love.
She said, “Love at 25 means...” and trailed off. After a long pause, she stated, “Sorry” and ended up not finishing her earlier sentence.
The artiste seemed to have been aware of her disappointing responses, as she said, “I apologise for not giving satisfying answers.”
Following the event, the media were unforgiving and put out headlines such as “Suzy, the press will not bite or harm you” and “Was love too difficult for 25-year-old Suzy... An embarrassing comeback show.”
They also claimed that they didn’t ask harsh questions, but they said Suzy plainly failed to be professional.
To this, Netizens reacted with, “She needs to read some books and practise her speech” and “Just a pretty face with no knowledge...”.
