(Showbiz) Kilafairy does the pole dance in music video?

KUALA LUMPUR: Social media was abuzz over singer-actress Kilafairy’s dance choreography in the music video of her latest single Put The Word In.

Many commented her moves were too sensual and sexually suggestive.

“I’m still a Malaysian. Why would I want to dance too provocatively?” retorted the 26-year-old in response to the issue.

In an interview with a web portal recently, Kilafiairy whose full name is Syakila Nisa Jahangir Khan, denied that her dance moves in the music video were akin to that of pole dancing.

Composed by Bryan B, Radio3000, DJ Aku Ash and Kenny Hughes, Put The Word In features DJ Aku Ash and international singer-songwriter Sean Kingston in the music video.

“Lion Music Group, Paranormal Records and I looked at many dance styles before deciding the choreography. The moves had been choreographed specifically for the video,” she said.

Kilafairy said the criticism was just based on the negative perspective of only certain quarters.

“The moves merely followed the beat and the groove of the song,” she said.
