KUALA LUMPUR: Hip-hop artiste Altimet's decision to retire from singing once he turns 40 next Nov 27, has prompted an international record label to offer him the job of an artiste and repertoire (A&R) manager.
The singer-songwriter who recently shined as Sarjan Ahmad in Enfiniti Productions' Ola Bola The Musical at Istana Budaya, however, is in "no hurry" to take up that offer.
Altimet, whose hit single Amboi earned him the Best Performance award at Anugerah Juara Lagu 32, said they were "still in the discussion stage" and nothing has been drawn up in black and white.
"I'm seriously considering it, and I'll only take up the job if it's truly something that I want," he said when interviewed by Berita Harian online yesterday.
"I'm always a musician at heart and all future plans I make will still involve the local music industry which I'm committed to helping."
As for acting, Altimet hopes to star in films as a "bad guy" someday. "I was a nasty security guard in Busker earlier this year, and I'd love to play a meaner person!"
Altimet is currently promoting his new single Mambang and will soon release another, titled Hutang.
"A nationwide roadshow with stops in most major cities is on the way soon," he revealed, adding that it will also feature some of his close friends as guest artistes.
