KUALA LUMPUR: Award-winning actress Nabila Huda Suhaimi has chided a production manager of a television production company for failing to keep her updated on a new drama role.
She claimed the manager kept quiet after promising her a role in his company's new drama, and did not revert until she learnt it had been given to another actress.
“He failed to keep his word! He didn’t reply, made me wait, as if I have all the time to do so,” lamented Nabila, 34, in an Instastory post yesterday.
“TV stations, producers, whoever, I’ve got lots of things to do than to have to wait for you. If you can’t pay, or have found another actress, just say so.
“If you can’t handle simple things like this, then don’t be a production manager!”
Nabila, the daughter of rock singer Amy Search, also said she had put up with “unprofessional” companies that reduced her pay as a result of budgetary constraints over the years.
“They ought to have gathered enough funds for their projects first. They don’t take rising living costs into consderation. If they don’t have the budget, I suggest they just stop producing dramas!”
Nabila also plans to impose booking fees on production companies before being offered roles in their dramas.
“That’s my move to make sure they keep their word. If they can’t do it, then get lost!” she said.
