#SHOWBIZ: 'Leona is funny, smart, kind and not a bimbo - Nabila Huda

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Nabila Huda, 40, described social media influencer, Kasih Iris Leona, 22, as a talented, intelligent, funny young person who is certainly not a bimbo.

Nabila said that she got to know Leona after they participated in the reality TV programme, Buka Kedai, which presents the concept of a food business in Japan.

"It was great working with Leona for the programme even though I didn't know her very well at first. But, she is a very nice person and we became friends on the set.

"She's also funny, manja and a smart girl. She's not just some ordinary girl or a bimbo. She knows what she wants and it was easy to work with Leona because she can game for whatever and could be crazy about it too," she said in a Harian Metro report today.

Nabila added that she was happy and entertained by Leona, who is the daughter of actor Azhar Sulaiman, during their 14 days of filming in Japan.

"On the first three days, Leona was like a little 'blur' because she still didn't understand the filming process. But, she quickly got into the groove and it was also easy to share my knowledge with her.

"Anyway, hanging out with her served to somewhat reduce the feeling I had of missing my daughter back home.

"Leona likes to make TikTok videos and we did it together. I don't mind giving in to her requests since we would sometimes go out exploring together," she said.

When asked about some netizens who like to bash Leona on social media, Nabila said that she was not aware of that.

Nabila was met during the press conference for the launch of the film Gayong, directed by Faisal Ishak and produced by Sol Pictures, yesterday.

Nabila said that she was excited to play the role of Kalsom in the movie, which will begin filmingfor 60 days on Oct 5.

Gayong, which tells the story of the late Datuk Meor Abdul Rahman who founded Silat Gayong, also stars Beto Kusyairy, Syafie Naswip and Yayan Ruhian.
