KUALA LUMPUR: While K-Pop lovers go gaga over uber popular group BTS and its seven members who are said to be very friendly and accommodating to their fans or Army, what do other artistes feel about the sensational twenty-somethings?
According to Soompi, 34-year-old South Korean solo artiste Lee Hyun had shared some insights about his Big Hit Entertainment label mates BTS on a Korean talk show.
In the recent episode of MBC’s Radio Star, Lee Hyun revealed that of the seven members of BTS, Jimin and Jin were the two he was closed to.
“Jimin is a lot like me. After he sings, he blames himself a lot, wondering why he wasn’t born with a natural talent for it. He’s always watching himself in videos and working hard to improve,” he said.
When the talk show’s mentioned a recent statement he made, in which he had said, “It’s an honour even to be teased by BTS’ Jin,” Lee Hyun quiped: “Of course, even breathing the same air is an honour.”
Apparently, Jin has quite a playful side too. Lee Hyun said: “When Jin comes over he’ll do things like take my phone and snap a selfie. After giving it back, he’ll jokingly say, ‘Look at it when you need a pick-me-up’.”
Lee Hyun also recalled the first time he experienced Jin’s propensity for humourous ribbing.
“BTS came for a recording. The other members were extremely tired since they had just finished their busy schedule for the day. But Jin came up to me and said, ‘Hyung, how does it feel? To be recording with world stars?’,” he said.
The You Are The Best Of My Life singer added that he actually felt more comfortable when people joke like that.
“He’ll say things like, ‘Hyung, how does it feel? To look at a handsome face?’ Jin is really good at saying things like that in a way that’s not off-putting,” he said.
But Lee Hyun confessed that he found BTS leader RM a little intimidating and a bit harder to joke around with.
“He’s charismatic, and he’s incredibly smart. So if I try to joke around with him, I’m afraid I’ll just feel small,” he said.
