KUALA LUMPUR: Lisa of hot K-Pop group BlackPink certainly continues to make an impression with fans worldwide.
The cute 22-year-old rapper with killer bangs was reported to have become the most followed female celebrity in Korea on Instagram earlier this year.
She apparently accumulated over 13 million followers in just less than seven months.
According to Soompi, the talented star recently upped the ante by overtaking her fellow male artistes by officially becoming the K-Pop idol with the highest number of followers on the social media platform.
Since yesterday, Lisa appears to have over 17.5 million followers on Instagram.
Trailing behind her is Chanyeol of popular K-Pop boyband Exo with 17.4 million followers.
What’s interesting is that the Bangkok-born lass had achieved this impressive feat in less than a year, since she had only established her own IG account in June last year.
Meanwhile, her group is no slouch either in setting more milestones.
Soompi also reported that the sensational quartet’s latest tune, Kill This Love, had made its debut at No. 41 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
This makes it the highest position ever in the history of K-Pop girl groups.
It’s also an improvement since BlackPink’s previous hit song, Ddu-Du Ddu-Du, only came in at No. 55 on the same chart back in June 2018.
If that is not enough, the South Korean music outfit’s Kill This Love EP made its debut on the Billboard 200 chart at No. 24, setting the record as the highest-charting album from a K-Pop girl group as well.
It’s also No. 1 on the World Albums chart and No. 10 on the Top Album Sales chart. To top it off, the catchy Kill This Love song made a grand entrance on the World Digital Song Sales chart at No. 1.
What a successful year it has been for BlackPink so far!
