KUALA LUMPUR: Imagine seeing your favourite Marvel superheroes illuminating the sky.
This became a reality around 8pm yesterday, when a huge “sketch” of Iron Man and an Avengers sign emerged 300 metres away from the KL Tower.
A brief video of this phenomenon was uploaded by Netizen Zuan Arifin on Instagram, and in his caption, he said: “Iron Man appears in KL. This is so cool. I can’t wait for Avengers: Endgame tomorrow!”
Zuan revealed that there would be a repeat of the “art in the sky” between 8pm and 10pm on Friday. It is part of Marvel Malaysia’s Avengers: Endgame light show which marks the premiere of the film today.
The light show will feature “sketches” of several Marvel superheroes created by 300 light-emitting drones. Apart from Iron Man, there will be Captain America, the Incredible Hulk and Thor.
Yesterday’s light show was an exclusive preview for the media.
Marvel Malaysia, which created the “art in the sky” uploaded a photo of it on Facebook yesterday. In the caption Marvel said: “We have 300 drones light up the skies in Kuala Lumpur as we stand together for Avengers: Endgame!”
Marvel also said that the feat had entered the Malaysia Book Of Records for Most Drones Used In A Light Show, and thanked Intel for helping them create the “masterpiece in the sky”.
Avengers: Endgame has made RM10 million in the local box office even before its premiere. This makes it the film with the highest advanced ticket sales to date.
It is the final chapter of the Infinity Saga, which comprises 22 films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that revolve around the powerful Infinity Stones. The first film, Iron Man, was released in 2008.
Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (The Incredible Hulk) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor).
