KUALA LUMPUR: Hollywood star Robert Downey Jr, known for his role as superhero Iron Man, will be returning to the MCU for a couple of Avengers movies.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, it was announced during Marvel's panel at the San Diego Comic-Con that the actor would be playing Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom.
Downey is set to star in Avengers: Doomsday, set for a May 2026 release, and Avengers: Secret Wars, coming in May 2027.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige also confirmed that the Russo brothers will direct these two new films.
"New mask, same task," said Downey who was present at the event to the audience from the stage.
