KUALA LUMPUR: It’s been confirmed that American R&B artiste Khalid will be collaborating with K-Pop juggernaut BTS on a song.
The multiple Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, whose full name is Khalid Donnel Robinson, had also recently talked about his friendship with the South Korean group and their highly-anticipated team-up.
According to Koreaboo, the 21-year-old Location, Better and Talk hitmaker said that they were mutual fans of each other during an interview yesterday on Good Morning Britain.
“Just because you don’t speak the same language as each other, doesn’t mean you can’t have a friendship. I feel like they are just exceptional. They’re extraordinary. They deserve every single thing that’s happening to them right now,” he said.
As for his work with the seven-member K-Pop outfit, he explained that it all comes down to scheduling at this point.
“There’s definitely talks of working on a collaboration. I feel like it would be awesome. I just gotta get to it, right?” he said.
An entry on Good Morning Britain’s Twitter account after the interview read: “Just because you don’t speak the same language as each other, doesn’t mean you can’t have a friendship. Music superstar Khalid talks about collaborating with supergroup #BTS.”
In April, Khalid released his sophomore album, Free Spirit, which debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200.
BTS recently completed the American leg its Speak Yourself world tour and will be heading to Brazil, England, France and Japan next.
