#SHOWBIZ: Norman Hakim disappointed over damaged luggage

KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Norman Hakim expressed his frustration on Instagram after three of his eight bags were damaged during an international flight with a low-cost airline.

"Safe landing, Alhamdulillah. But my bags weren't as lucky. Out of eight, three were damaged, two with minor issues and one seriously 'injured'," he wrote, sharing photos and videos of the damaged luggage.

Norman acknowledged that such incidents are not uncommon but emphasised the need for solutions instead of blaming the airline.

"Let's help improve their services. I heard their management is negotiating to expand their fleet and capacity. However, they must first address everyday issues like these," he said.

Recounting his reaction to seeing the damaged bags, Norman admitted it tested his patience.

"For 30 seconds, I had to calm myself and control my breathing to keep reason over emotion," he shared. He speculated the staff responsible for handling his luggage might have been under personal stress.

Norman also highlighted broader implications.

"In 2024, 45 million people would have used this airline. What percentage might face similar issues? These incidents undermine the founder's efforts to maintain high standards," he added.

Despite his disappointment, Norman encouraged constructive action, calling for accountability and improved handling procedures.

The post has since garnered attention online, sparking discussions about the quality of baggage handling services among airlines.
