#Showbiz: Yusof Haslam to foot A. Galak's hospital bills

KUALA LUMPUR: Producer and owner of Skop Productions Datuk Yusof Haslam says he will help actor A. Galak to settle his medical bills.

The 77-year-old artiste who is popular for his role as Sarjan Misai or Sarjan Hashim in the police drama series Gerak Khas was admitted into Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) on Friday due to stroke, according to a recent news report.

Yusof, 65, said that besides having been close friends for more than three decades, he also viewed A. Galak, whose real name is Zakaria Ahmad, as part of the Skop Productions big family, having acted in many of his dramas and films.

“What is important now is for him to focus on getting back on his feet. Hospitalisation and follow-up treatment bills will be taken care by my company,” said Yusof.

He also said that A. Galak’s had shown positive development, although he was still under close supervision by the doctors.

Yusof also said that the stroke had affected A. Galak’s speech.

“According to the doctors, he may take a longer time to recover, but I’m convinced that he has the willpower to overcome this.

“Let’s all pray that he recovers well,” he said.

Last Friday, A. Galak was rushed to the clinic by his colleague at Skop Productions before he was taken to HKL.

It is believed that he suffered a stroke due to his failure to take his medications on time.
