#Showbiz: BTS breaks Guinness World Record set 24 years ago, new movie coming!

KUALA LUMPUR: International K-Pop group BTS has broken a Guinness World Record set 24 years ago in its home country of South Korea.

According to Koreaboo, Billboard had put out an inquiry request to Guinness World Records with regards to the red hot music group’s 2019 album, Map Of The Soul: Persona.

The inquiry request was confirmed yesterday when the popular American world records reference entity announced that the latest hit album from BTS was now the best-selling album in South Korean history.

Map Of The Soul: Persona, had achieved the record after selling 3,399,302 copies in the group’s homeland as of May 2019.

The previous record of highest umber of albums sold was held by South Korean artiste Kim Gun-mo, via his third studio album Mis-Encounter (also known as Wrongful Encounter or Wrongful Meeting).

That particular album, which was released way back in 1995, sold 3.3 million copies in South Korea.

Koreaboo also reported that BTS fans, better known as Army, will get to see the K-Pop group’s third feature film, Bring The Soul: The Movie, on Aug 7 in selected cinemas.

Although the actual venues have not been revealed yet, the official website (www.bringthesoulthemovie.com) has stated that presale tickets will start going on sale from July 3.

The film’s synopsis reads: “Following their landmark Love Yourself tour, BTS triumphantly returns to cinema screens in Bring The Soul: The Movie. Shining brighter than any light on the stage, now the group invite us behind the spotlight.

“On the day following the final concert of their Europe tour, on a rooftop in Paris, BTS tells their very own stories from experiencing new cities to performing in front of thousands of Army across the globe. A glimpse into BTS’ world away from the stage, featuring intimate group discussions alongside spectacular concert performances from the tour, this is a cinema event not to be missed. The journey of BTS continues!”
