#Showbiz: BTS' V says he suffers from 'cholinergic urticaria'

KUALA LUMPUR: The seven successful members of international K-Pop sensation BTS may be visually flawless and physically fit but they’re also human just like the rest of us.

According to Soompi, the group’s 23-year-old member V had shared with fans that he suffers from hives caused by an increased in body temperature and sweat, called cholinergic urticaria.

Apparently, the issue came to light yesterday after the fresh-faced idol responded to a fan’s post on the popular K-Pop group’s new global fan community, dubbed BTS Weverse.

He confessed that he was experiencing the symptoms of his chronic condition at the time and simply commented, “No, I have a cholinergic allergy, I’m itchy, itchy.”

Cholinergic urticaria is a type of skin rash that looks like a number of small, itchy red bumps, which commonly afflicts young adults.

Severe cases have hives causing a stinging sensation in addition to the itching. The condition could also include abdominal pain, dizziness or difficulty in breathing for extreme cases.

The condition is triggered by a rise in body temperature, so things like exercising, taking a hot bath or even emotional stress could start it off.

Apparently, “cholinergic hives” began trending on several Korean portal sites shortly after V had uploaded the post on his condition and eventually the search term hit the No. 1 spot on Naver’s realtime search rankings.

Meanwhile, Koreaboo reported yesterday that BTS has added a brand new stop to its ongoing mega successful Speak Yourself world tour.

The smashing South Korean music outfit will be heading to Saudi Arabia on Oct 11 to perform for fans at the King Fadh International Stadium in Riyadh, which is said to have a 68,000 seating capacity.

Apparently, BTS will be the first foreign artiste to hold such a major concert in the sovereign state.
