KUALA LUMPUR: Despite being born in Ireland and having spent most of her schooling years overseas, actress Sarimah Ibrahim is proud to be able to speak Malay as well as English.
“I was born in Ireland. Studied in sekolah kebangsaan here in Malaysia, Cambridge High School Abu Dhabi, The Emirates International School Dubai,Wesley College, Dublin.
“I am so thankful my dad spoke BM to me while overseas so when i came back here in ’96 i still could speak it,” the 43-year-old actress who is of Malay-Irish mixed parentage tweeted recently.
Many Netizens complimented her for her impeccable command of the national language, which is evident while hosting TV programmes, despite having spent many years abroad.
The tweet had received more than 15,000 likes and been re-tweeted more than 9,000 times.
