KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Kong pop star Faye Wong and her ex-husband Li Yapeng have arranged for their 13-year-old daughter Li Yan to study overseas.
Hong Kong entertainment portal Jayne Stars recently reported that Li Yan is a student of the Swiss elite school, College Alpin International Beau Soleil, that has tuition fees as high as HK$850,000 (RM455,000) annually.
However, even those who can afford tuition might not get admitted, since there is a capacity of only 250 students.
Li Yan’s enrolment at Beau Soleil in Gryon was found out by Netizens via social media recently.
The school posted a photo of Li Yan in her uniform, smiling and sitting on the floor with three female classmates. It was captioned, “Creativity thrives when our students work as a team.”
Students who have successfully enrolled in the school, which was founded in 1910 and is one of the oldest private boarding schools in Switzerland, live in luxury.
Located in the Alps, Beau Soleil boasts of spacious dorms, innovative facilities, multiple indoor and outdoor courts, a fitness room, a swimming pool, a rock-climbing centre, a band room, and a library.
Moreover, this co-ed institution ensures individual attention by assigning one teacher to only four students in each classroom. Only students aged 11 to 18 have the opportunity to study here.
Graduates of Beau Soleil attend prestigious universities as Harvard, Oxford, University College London, and the University of Toronto. This year, some students were admitted to Cambridge with an international baccalaureate score of 43.
