#Showbiz: Ailing Bob Lokman needs to lose extra 10kg of fluid

KUALA LUMPUR: Actor and lyricist Bob Lokman who is suffering from a kidney ailment is in stable condition but needs to lose more bodily fluid.

His wife Relawati Daud, 42, said that the 55-year-old artiste was showing signs of improvement, but doctors would not discharge him from Hospital Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM Hospital) in Sungai Buloh just yet.

“He's still got a lot of water in his body which has to be taken out, 10 kilograms of it. The doctors told us that he has to stay for two more days before he can go home," she said in a news report yesterday.

She added that the doctors had to treat Bob immediately, because water retention could lead to further breathing difficulties and the swelling of his legs.

“Once he's out of hospital he will have to rest sufficiently before continuing with his roadshow in Terengganu," said Relawati, adding that her husband would continue his talks next month.

It was reported last Thursday that Bob whose real name is Mohd Hakim Lokman was hospitalised due to kidney complications.

News of Bob getting treatment at the hospital was shared by Dr Riduan Mohd Nor on his Facebook account.

According to his FB posting, Bob was touring Terengganu on a preaching roadshow.

He began to feel weak and was referred to UiTM Hospital, where he had received treatment in 2015 and 2018.

Besides kidney problems, Bob was previously hospitalised due to lung and heart complications.

Bob and Relawati have eight children. His eldest Mohamad Adam died at 25, in October 2018 due to a brain tumour.
