KUALA LUMPUR: Popular singer-songwriter Wang Lee Hom is back in action after disappearing for two-months due to a quarantine session for an illness.
According to a recent report from Sin Chew Daily, the American-born artiste had fallen ill in Wuhan, China last December.
But it was stated that Wang, 43, did not contract the Covid-19 virus.
The star was seen last Wednesday on the Chinese reality TV series ‘The Treasured Voice’, on which he sang a cover of ‘We Are The World’.
Wang sang the charity single, which was originally performed by a group of famous artistes under the banner USA For Africa back in 1985, with Chinese singer James Li.
But due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic which has resulted in travel restrictions, the two singers performed the track in different studios.
The footage was broadcast live by utilising cloud-based technology and was apparently seen by an estimated 30 million viewers.
In a Facebook post, Wang said he hopes the song will remind people to help and care for each other.
"I think Covid-19 has reminded us that the lyrics of this song are a message we all need to hear and embrace," he wrote.
According to earlier reports, Wang apparently developed a high fever after his concert in Wuhan last December.
He then cancelled all of his other shows and has been self-isolating in his home since January.
