KUALA LUMPUR: The cute daughter of celebrity couple Awal Ashaari and Scha Alyahya, Lara Alana playfully announced that her mother was expecting in a video clip on Instagram yesterday.
The short clip uploaded on Awal's IG account also saw the bubbly 6-year-old girl holding a positive pregnancy test kit while saying that she would be a big sister soon.
Little Lara added that she would be getting a baby brother, although the actual gender of the upcoming addition to the family had not been confirmed yet.
In the accompanying caption to the video clip, Awal wrote: "This is the most meaningful gift in conjunction with my 38th birthday celebration on Aug 6. We are eagerly awaiting our second child. Scha has been carrying for four months.
"Please pray that my wife and child are healthy. Hopefully, the pregnancy will go well.
"I am really grateful for God's blessing. I ask for the best prayers for our family," he added.
Awal also quipped that his wife was currently in a smartphone-hating phase.
"Sometimes she hates me too," he joked.
The post received close to 640,000 views so far with over 4,300 comments congratulating the family.
Awal and Scha, 37, tied the knot on May 4, 2012.
