KUALA LUMPUR: Following speculation that award-winning actor-director Syamsul Yusof's marriage to actress Puteri Sarah Liyana is facing trouble, his father Datuk Yusof Haslam is hopeful that things will work out well for the star couple at the end.
"I don't know much about their problems, if any. Let them give statements to clear the air. That will be best," said Yusof in a news report today.
Describing his son's and daughter-in-law's problems as a "personal matter", the veteran actor, director and producer revealed that Syamsul and Puteri Sarah had not been living with him for the last couple of years as they had moved to their own home.
"As parents, my wife and I wish for the best for Syamsul and Puteri Sarah. Let's all pray that they will resolve their problems as best as they can."
Puteri Sarah, 35, was recently seen emerging from the Gombak district religious office, accompanied by a woman who was allegedly her mother-in-law.
Dressed in a jubah and a black tudung, her presence further drew the attention of those at the office when she was seen entering the Islamic family law section.
Puteri Sarah, who acted in Lu Pikirlah Sendiri The Movie and Evolusi KL Drift The Series, has also stopped following Syamsul on his Instagram account, and the last family photo of them and their children was uploaded on Syamsul's account in May.
Puteri Sarah and Syamsul, 36, tied the knot on March 8, 2014 and are blessed with two children, Syaikhul Islam, 3, and 12-month-old Sumayyah.
