KUALA LUMPUR: Having tested positive for Covid-19 recently, Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 Francisca Luhong James decided to share her recovery story.
Taking to Instagram recently, the 25-year-old beauty queen wrote a lengthy post.
"I know some of you might think why is she sharing it here, what would people say? They'll judge you.
"In the midst of hardship; the end of 2020 wasn't pretty as it seems, started off 2021 is already hard for all of us, remember how we thought at early march 2020 the lockdown will only last 1 month?
"Who would've thought we would have to go through another lockdown in Malaysia (MCO2.0)?" she said.
Francisca said that she was initially shaken when the result of her swab test was positive for the coronavirus.
"At first, I didn't know what to do, so I called my parents, although I hesitated initially, since I didn't want to worry them. But thankfully, it was they who had helped me to remain calm, telling me to get in touch with the Health Ministry.
Francisca said the Health Ministry had informed her to observe self-quarantine as she was an asymptomatic case.
She then informed Elaine Daly, the national director of Miss Universe Malaysia Organisation, of her condition.
For Francisca, she did not expect to get infected since she duly followed all the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) suggested by the authorities, from wearing face mask in public to sanitising and washing her hands regularly.
However, she has since accepted her fate and after 10 days of self-quarantine, Francisca went for another swab test and received the wonderful news that she was free from coronavirus.
"I have successfully beaten Covid-19," she said.
