#Showbiz: Angelababy and Huang Xiaoming divorced after 6-year marriage

KUALA LUMPUR: Chinese celebrity couple Huang Xiaoming and Angelababy have confirmed that they are no longer husband and wife.

This follows a constant stream of rumours in recent years that the two popular actors were having problems with their marriage.

According to The Straits Times, the two had tagged each other and posted similar entries on their individual Weibo accounts recently to announce their split.

It read: "Grateful for everything in the past, we are still a family in the future."

The agencies for the two artistes also released statements on the couple's divorce on Weibo.

The statement added that Huang, 44, and Angelababy, 32, would also be raising their 5-year-old son together despite the split.

It was also announced that the former couple would not be commenting further on the matter and that legal action would be taken against anyone spreading malicious rumours.

It was reported that Angelababy, whose real name is Angela Yeung, had dated Huang for close to five years before officially revealing in 2014 that they were in a relationship.

The couple got married a year later and became parents in January of 2017 after the birth of their son.

But after they were hardly seen together in public or interacting on social media, rumours of marital woes started circulating in 2019.

The speculations intensified the same year when the two performed separately at broadcaster China Central Television's Mid-Autumn Festival Gala.

On January 2021, the rumour mill became rife again after Huang was seen on the same stage with his ex-girlfriend, Chinese actress Li Feier, during the Chinese reality TV show Sisters Who Make Waves.

Huang was the host of the show, while the 34-year-old artiste was one of the contestants.

The incident, which sparked off a decade-old rumour of Angelababy being the third party in their relationship between 2007 and 2010, saw Huang quitting his hosting position for the show.
