#Showbiz: Siti's 'Queen Of The Night' specially for B40 families

KUALA LUMPUR: Pop queen Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin has a special showcase this Aug 6, and it is for low-income or "B40" Malaysian families.

Themed Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza: Queen Of The Night, it will be held at 7pm at the Royale Chulan Hotel, in Jalan Conlay here.

The 90-minute showcase is in aid of non-governmental organisation Yayasan Metamorphosis and is presented by Be De Paris.

Siti will perform 15 of her popular songs, and the award-winning singer will readily mingle with the crowd throughout the relaxed and informal show.

Siti said that Queen Of The Night was a concert with a difference, as it was specially for the most underprivileged segments of society.

"Many of my fans come from the low-income segments of society. I'm most honoured to serenade them with their favourite songs in this very special night," said Siti at the launch of the concert in Dulang Lounge at the Petronas Twin Towers, KLCC, Jalan Ampang here today.

She added: "The song list was drawn up by the organisers, in discussion with me. Just what the fans want!"

Yayasan Metamorphosis president Datuk Razalif Mohamad Zain said that they always had Siti in mind, when they and Be De Paris decided to have the concert.

"She is our No.1 entertainer, loved and respected by Malaysians from all walks of life. And to many a low-income youngster, meeting Siti is a dream come true," he said.

Razalif added that 450 seats in the dinner showcase had been purchased by his foundation specially for the underprivileged families.

"We've also provided transport for the guests in the form of buses to the venue. In addition, they will be joined by some very important people."

Siti will be accompanied by five musicians, led by her regular collaborator Aubrey Suwito who also serves as the music director.

"I've got another showcase in November, but the details are under wraps for now."
