#SHOWBIZ: Siti in 'The Muslim 500' list again

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin is honoured to be included again in 'The Muslim 500: The World's 500 Most Influential Muslims' listing for its 2025 edition.

"Praise be to God, I'm grateful and honoured to be on the list. I take it as an appreciation for my efforts for the Muslim community and the religion.

"Although my name is listed under the creative practitioners category, I'm sure the work my husband and I have been putting through Yayasan Nurjiwa for those in Gaza, Palestine has contributed to this recognition," she said.

This, according to the 45-year-old artiste, has motivated her to do more for the Palestinians and other less fortunate people now.

"I still have responsibilities in Gaza. Some of the children there are still under the foundation's care.

"We are still providing food there until today.

"My prayers are always with the foundation's team, so that everyone is safe and can carry on with contributing food to those in need there," she said.

The longstanding artiste was met at a press conference, here yesterday to announce the upcoming 'The Journey Of Sound: Judika & Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza' concert at Stadium Merdeka on Dec 14, organised by Universe Gateway.

Meanwhile, other Malaysians listed in the publication by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre in Amman, Jordan, included Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, former premiere Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, former deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, as well as singer Hafiz Hamidun.
