KUALA LUMPUR: Popular K-Pop group TXT's new mini album, The Name Chapter: Temptation, has made its debut at No.1 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart.
According to Soompi, Billboard made the announcement on Feb 5 for the chart which ranks the most popular albums in the US.
The quintet whose full name is Tomorrow X Together also marked another milestone with the new release by achieving the biggest US sales week of any album since Taylor Swift's Midnights which debuted at No. 1 on the chart last November.
Luminate (formerly Nielsen Music) said that, "The Name Chapter: Temptation earned a total of 161,500 equivalent album units during the week ending on Feb 2."
"The album's total score consisted of 152,000 traditional album sales and 9,000 streaming equivalent album units, which translates to 13.24 million on-demand audio streams over the course of the week.
"The album also racked up 500 track equivalent album units in its first week," it said.
Apparently, TXT, which is under Big Hit Music, is the fifth Korean artiste in history to top the Billboard 200.
The other K-Pop acts to have done so previously are BTS, SuperM, Stray Kids, and BlackPink.
TXT, which made its debut in 2019, is also the second K-Pop artiste to chart seven different albums on the Billboard 200, after BTS.
The Name Chapter: Temptation is the group's third Top 5 album, following The Chaos Chapter: Freeze, which peaked at No.5, and Minisode 2: Thursday's Child, which peaked at No.4.
