KUALA LUMPUR: Nine years after Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 disappeared, a special documentary will debut on Netflix to discuss what could have possibly happened to the ill-fated aircraft.
The three-episode documentary MH370: The Plane That Disappeared will be screened on Netflix on March 8.
It will feature interviews with family members of the flight crew and passengers as well as journalists who wrote about the tragic flight that began at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at 12.41am on a Saturday and was expected to land in Beijing, China at 6.30am.
Air traffic controllers lost contact with the plane at 1.30am when it was flying over the South China Sea close to Vietnam's Ca Mau Peninsula.
The first episode will talk about what happened in the hours before the flight took off.
The second episode will focus on MH17, another Malaysian Airlines flight which was shot down over Ukraine a year later. 298 people on board the flight died.
The third episode will highlight plane debris found in the Indian Ocean and how it could be linked to MH370.
The guests interviewed in the documentary include author Jeff Wise who wrote The Plane That Wasn't There: Why We Haven't Found MH370, and journalist Florence De Changy.
MH370: The Plane That Disappeared is directed by Luise Malkinson who is best known for directing Catching A Predator last year.
"The families of the victims want the world to talk about the tragedy. And we should as no resolution is in sight after nine years," said Malkinson.
The Boeing 777-200 carried 239 passengers and crew members. There were 38 Malaysians and 153 Chinese nationals.
