#Showbiz: Fans of BTS' V run large-scale ads to promote 'Jinny's Kitchen'

KUALA LUMPUR: V of K-Pop juggernaut BTS had the full backing of his global fanbase for his new variety show, Jinny's Kitchen, which premiered on Feb 24.

Fans paid for TV commercial spots to promote the talented 27-year-old Korean idol's first solo variety show before it started streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

According to allkpop, V's biggest Chinese fan club, China Baidu V Bar, ran a personal TV commercial once before the premiere of tvN's Jinny Kitchen and twice during the food show's rerun.

Apparently, each TV advertisement slot had cost USD235,000 (about RM1.04 million).

The fan club had previously done a similar show of support when they bought all of the commercial slots for the You Quiz On The Block show when BTS appeared as a special guest back in 2021.

V, whose real name is Kim Tae Hyung, also received much love from other fanbases worldwide including BTS V Union, V Inside and KTH Supporters, who united to promote his appearance on Jinny's Kitchen.

Large-sized LED billboards at the prime locations of Gangnam, Hongdae and Myeong-dong, in Seoul, featured ads of the show from Feb 19-25.

The ads featuring V had played a total of 500 times daily at the three locations.

V Inside had also bought a month's worth of ads for a bus stop in front of the CJ ENM Centre which began on Feb 18.

Jinny's Kitchen is currently available to stream in various countries around the world including Malaysia.
