#Showbiz: Having recorded 7 new songs, Siti announces new album on the way

KUALA LUMPUR: Pop queen Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza has great news for her fans. She is set to release a new album soon.

The 44-year-old songstress, in a news report yesterday, said she had recorded seven new songs for the album and they included Menjaga Cintamu, the theme song of the coming biopic Anwar, The Untold Story and Sehebat Matahari which she sang at the recent Konsert Satu Suara Volume 3 which also featured Ernie Zakri and Jay Jay.

"I recorded these songs during Ramadan. The other five are on the way, as I'll be back in the recording studio soon," she said.

Siti revealed that the new album would feature compositions by several new composers and lyricists as well as Indonesia's Melly Goeslaw who was her fellow Inspirer (Co-Principal) in Akademi Fantasia Season 10 a decade ago.

"My songs will be delivered in a fresher and more contemporary style. Recording them feels like going back to vocal class, but it is fun."

Siti is also planning to have a solo concert next year.

"This concert will serve as the live introduction of the 12 new songs."
