KUALA LUMPUR: A new poignant devised play from Theatresauce titled Alu & Lesung will be staged at KLPAC here from Aug 2 to 6.
The experimental and multisensorial theatre experience tracks the journey of an ensemble as they revisit the calmer moments in their lives, the events that happen after where they deal with the loss of security, followed by a newfound journey of healing.
This project zooms in on individuals who are private about their own challenges and struggles.
Vulnerable moments are often kept to themselves and away from others, even from the people close to them.
Audiences take on a voyeuristic lens by peeking into these private moments.
This production utilises movement, minimal text in various languages, scent, light, sound, and projections.
Directed by Dexter Zhen, Alu & Lesung is the fifth production of Theatresauce's 2023 season and features an ensemble made up of Aila, Lim Sheng Hui and Tharanii Karthigesu.
The 60-minute live show at KLPAC's indicine venue will feature the English, Malay, Mandarin, Hokkien and Tamil languages.
It runs from Aug 2-6 at 8.30pm with additional 3pm shows on the weekend.
Tickets are priced at RM55 and can be purchased from www.cloudjoi.com. There are also group bookings for educational institutions at a discounted rate.
Alu & Lesung is for mature audiences only. For more details, visit www.klpac.org.
