KUALA LUMPUR: Lisa Manoban of K-pop group BlackPink has reportedly turned down a second offer from their label YG Entertainment to renew her contract.
Allkpop reported yesterday that the Thai singer refused a RM176 million offer from YG, leaving the girl group's future uncertain.
Fans are concerned about Lisa's non-renewal of her BlackPink contract that will end this year, after the group marks their seventh anniversary.
In July, YG Entertainment refuted claims of Lisa cancelling her August schedule due to her unclear contract renewal status.
BlackPink are in the last leg of their Born Pink world tour.
Their decision to renew their contract with YG will have a significant impact on the South Korean music industry as they are the nation's leading girl group.
BlackPink debuted in 2016 and besides Lisa, its other members are Jisoo, Jennie and Rose.
The group rose meteorically to the top of the K-pop industry and their best known songs include Boombayah, Ddu-Du Ddu-Du, Kill This Love and How You Like That.
