KUALA LUMPUR: Popular singer-songwriter Aina Abdul, known for her large, elaborate dresses as well as her power-packed vocals, mesmerised 10,000 guests at her third solo concert last night.
The 30-year-old UCSI University music graduate from Seremban, who first found fame as the protege of rock queen Ella in TV3 reality talent show Mentor Legend 2014, delivered 34 songs in A Night With Aina Abdul 3.0, at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil here.
Aina's three-hour concert, which began at 8pm, featured her popular songs such as Terus Hidup, Sumpah and Sepi which she delivered with gusto, as well as her less known singles such as Nada Kalbu, Blue and Sedia Terluka.
Aina also sang traditional songs as Fatwa Pujangga, K-Pop songs as How You Like That by BlackPink, and an Arab song Atoune El Toufoule (Give Us A Chance) dedicated to Palestine.
The Mentor Legend 2014 second runner-up had popular R&B singer-songwriter Lah Ahmad of VE fame as her main guest for the evening, and they performed a soulful duet titled Tunggu Kamu.
Aina also sang Nafas Cinta with her frequent collaborator Khai Bahar, and Lemak Manis and Joget Cinta Sakti with Asli singer Haziq Rosebi.
Aina, who won the 37th Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL37) early this year, was backed by an orchestra and a band led by acclaimed music directors Mac Chew and Jenny Chin.
Her concert was in aid of Yayasan Prihatin Nasional (Prihatin), and was the follow-up of A Night With Aina Abdul 2.0 in Istana Budaya and 2021's A Night With Aina Abdul at Bsync Live in Taman Bukit Seputeh.
"Thank you ladies and gentlemen, for making my dream come true. Axiata Arena is a splendid concert venue which I have always wanted to have my concert in, and I am so delighted that the moment has finally arrived," said Aina.
Prihatin chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Aizuddin Ghazali said part of the proceeds from the concert would be used to provide educational benefits to underprivileged university students.
Part of the proceeds will also help the Palestinians of Gaza.
Aina made her debut as a recording artiste with the single Ini Yang Kau Mahu in 2015.
Aina's song Semalam became the runner-up of AJL35 in 2021 while Terus Hidup became the Best Song in AJL37 and also earned her Best Vocals.
