#Showiz: Daiyan Trisha drops contracts with pro-Israel brands

Singer and actress Daiyan Trisha has terminated her contracts with several brands that are pro-Israel.

The 31-year-old artiste said she took the humanitarian crisis seriously and this move was her way of continuing to show her solidarity with the Palestinian people.

"I want to say that I have terminated the contracts with some of the brands I work with. I accept all criticism and I view this issue as something serious.

"This is how I stand and show my continued support," she said in a recent 'Harian Metro' report.

Daiyan said she made the decision of her own free will.

"This is my own decision and my struggle for Palestine. I hope we will all continue to fight for our brothers and sisters there."

Earlier, her name was listed among many other celebrities in the Blockout 2024 movement who were alleged to be seen not speaking out for Palestine.

Daiyan divulged that she had donated RM100,000 to four non-governmental organisations related to Palestine, namely Mercy Malaysia (RM25,000), Global Peace Mission (RM25,000), Cinta Gaza (RM25,000) and Viva Palestina (RM25,000).
