KUALA LUMPUR: American actor Johnny Wactor was shot and killed when he interrupted thieves stealing the catalytic converter from his car in Los Angeles on Saturday.
According to AP, the Los Angeles Police Department revealed that the shooting took place at 3am after the former General Hospital actor had approached three men in Downtown LA.
His mother, Scarlett Wactor, told ABC 7 that her son had left work at a rooftop bar with a coworker when he saw someone at his car and thought it was being towed.
His mother added that a mask-wearing suspect opened fire on her 37-year-old son, who was later rushed to a hospital where he died.
Police said that the the three suspects quickly drove away after the shooting and there were no arrests yet as of yesterday.
Wactor played Brando Corbin on the long-running General Hospital soap opera from 2020 to 2022 and also appeared in a variety of films and TV series, such as NCIS and Westworld.
