#SHOWBIZ: 'Baby Driver' actor Hudson Meek, 16, dies tragically

KUALA LUMPUR: American actor Hudson Meek, known for his roles in Baby Driver and the preschool series Badanamu Stories, tragically passed away at 16 following a fall from a moving vehicle.

The incident occurred in Vestavia Hills, Alabama in the US on Dec 19, as confirmed by the Jefferson County coroner's office, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Meek fell "to the roadway from a motor vehicle in motion," sustaining blunt force injuries.

He was rushed to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital last Thursday, where he succumbed to his injuries two days later.

The Vestavia Hills Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

In a heartfelt statement shared on his Instagram page, Meek's family expressed their grief: "Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight. His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met."

The family also highlighted Meek's role as an organ donor, finding solace in knowing he would continue to help others.

Meek's acting career included a younger portrayal of Ansel Elgort's character in the 2017 film Baby Driver. He also appeared in Legacies, Genius, and NBC's Found.

Additional projects featuring Meek are expected to be released in 2025.
