#SHOWBIZ: Elfira and Mom reunite in Makkah, amidst a sea of people before the peak of haj season

KUALA LUMPUR: Artiste Elfira Loy was elated to have finally crossed paths with her mother Filzah Yusoff in Makkah recently.

The 30-year-old artiste shared this in a video uploaded on her Instagram account.

Although both were in the Muslim holy land to perform the haj, the mother and daughter had gone separately.

While Filzah was there with Tabung Haji, Elfira went there a few days after her mother after being pleasantly surprised to receive an invitation from Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Media.

"Alhamdulillah, after several days of trying to see my mom, I'm glad that we finally had the chance to meet each other. Thanks to all who've helped," she wrote in the caption section of the post.

Some of the comments left by her followers said that her experience of looking for her mother there, amidst millions of pilgrims, could in essence be somewhat akin to what believers would experience on the plains of Mahsyar during Judgement Day.

Elfira left for Saudi Arabia on June 10, a mere seven days before the peak of the haj this season.

Although it was received at the eleventh hour, she said it made her feel special to be even invited to perform the fifth Tenet of Islam.
