KUALA LUMPUR: Zul Huzaimy is no stranger to entertainment.
He is a versatile actor, director and host who has successfully become a household name in showbiz.
The Perak-born Best Supporting Actor of the 21st Malaysian Film Festival is now venturing into singing and has released Fajar Cinta as his first single.
The touching song was composed and written by Jo Haq and tells the story of a painful breakup that might see a future reconciliation and a bright new episode in the narrator's life.
Jo said in a statement yesterday that the word "fajar" ("dawn") symbolised a new beginning, and it meant that a person's loss would not last because one could still find happiness later.
"This sentimental song combines Malay rock and pop and is aimed at young people who often fall in love, out of love and find love again.
"I realised that Zul has great potential as a singer, because he entered the final round of the reality show Mic On Celebrity a few years ago.
"He really gave his all in the competition, in partnership with his team mentor Tomok. I believe that he has a bright future as a recording artiste," he said.
Jo hoped that fans of homegrown music would support Fajar Cinta and Zul who has proven that he is a versatile entertainer.
Zul said: "I want to thank Jo for this amazing song and I hope that my first foray into singing will be well-received by all music lovers.
"This song with sad but hopeful lyrics is a great beginning for me as a singer and I hope to record many more in the years to come."
Fajar Cinta can be streamed on all digital streaming platforms and its music video can be viewed on Nadi Studios' YouTube channel.
