KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian heist film, The Experts, began screening in 18 Cambodian cinemas today.
The screenings feature a dubbed version in the Khmer language.
"We have collaborated with Cambodia's largest content distributor, Westec Media Limited (WML), to present The Experts there and did a dubbed version to attract their audience," said the movie's executive producer, Raja Jastina Raja Arshad, in a statement today.
She also thanked Malaysians for supporting the movie.
"We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has previously watched The Experts in cinemas.
"The support from viewers further strengthens our efforts to elevate local films to greater heights," she said.
Directed by Andre Chiew and Nazim Shah, with a screenplay written by Joel Soh, the film stars Datuk Aaron Aziz, Syafiq Kyle, Remy Ishak, Mimi Lana, Maya Karin, Tony Eusof, and Ray Dapdap.
The story revolves around five siblings who used to be master thieves like their late father, but have since quit crime, only to be forced to do one last high-risk heist as their lives are threatened by a crime lord.
Jastina added that the movie, produced by Astro Shaw in collaboration with ZAK Capital and TGV Pictures, will be available on the Astro First platform starting next month.
