KUALA LUMPUR: Social media influencer and digital content creator Sofyank, 28, is setting up a production company that focuses on the use of special visual effects (VFX).
Sofyank or Mohamad Sofian Abdullah said in a Berita Harian report yesterday that he was looking for capable individuals who could help him realise his dream of making a film using VFX.
"Currently, I'm looking for someone who can collaborate with me, and this person should have experience in international filmmaking," he said, adding that the company will be a small one.
"We will start with high-quality content, then produce short films, then bigger productions."
Sofyank, the winner of the Ultimate VFX Challenge - Magic Of The Month competition in Los Angeles, the United States last year said that he had started talking to several individuals.
"The list of special effects designers is already with me, but I have to find out whether they want to join me or not. I am now in the process of exchanging ideas and opinions including looking at each other's skills," he said.
"I'm more interested in action movies, but with special effects included. For example, when the characters are fighting, they will be up in the air."
Sofyank will be competing in the TikTok Awards Malaysia 2024 for the Creator Of The Year category with Ryan Bakery, Chesayang Kitchen, Shi Qi, Daddy Hood and Sofea Shra.
The awards will be broadcast live on TV3 from the World Trade Centre (WTC) Kuala Lumpur on Aug 11.
