KUALA LUMPUR: National badminton player Lee Zii Jia made Malaysia proud when he clinched a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics last month.
Zii Jia secured the country's second bronze medal in the games after beating Indian player Lakshya Sen in the men's singles.
Yesterday, Zii Jia took to social media to share a picture of himself with singer Nicholas Teo.
Teo is a close friend of Zii Jia, who attended his concert in Shenzen, China last November.
In the photo, the shuttler proudly pointed to his bronze medal while Teo, 42, gave the thumbs up.
"Appreciate," said the 26-year-old sportsman in the caption.
In an earlier Instagram post, Zii Jia described Teo as a "good elder brother and mentor".
"You always motivate me and are a ray of light during dark times," he said.
Many netizens were delighted to know that Zii Jia and Teo were friends.
"So, will Zii Jia and Nicholas collaborate on a song?" one netizen asked.
