KUALA LUMPUR: Lee Zii Jia's world ranking has dropped one rung to eighth in the latest update by BWF today.
Zii Jia reached the Arctic Open quarter-finals last month but an ankle injury forced him to miss out on ranking points after withdrawing from the Denmark Open.
He returned to action at the Kumamoto Masters two weeks ago and exited at the quarter-final stage. His first round loss at the China Masters last week contributed to the drop.
However, this has not affected his chances to play in the World Tour Finals in Hangzhou, China, next month. Only the top eight players in the Race to the Finals will be eligible and Zii Jia is sixth.
Men's pair Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani rose one spot to seventh in the world rankings. Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik remained at fifth.
Mixed doubles Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei soared two places to eighth while professional pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai dropped one place to 10th.
